KEN NAKAOKA ASSUMES MAYORAL POST IN 1972
Ken Nakaoka became the first Japanese American to be elected in Gardena city council in 1962 and in 1972 he was elected as mayor, becoming the first Japanese American, elected mayor in the United States.
